Floods force Kedah MB, family to leave official residence [WATCH]

ALOR STAR: Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor and his family today moved out of the flood-hit Kedah Menteri Besar's official residence, Seri Mentaloon in Jalan Anak Bukit.

Sanusi's special officer for media, Helmi Khalid uploaded a 138-second video on TikTok titled MB, Keluarga Berpindah. Seri Mentaloon air paras lutut. (MB and family moving out. Seri Mentaloon floodwaters reached knee-level).

In the video, Sanusi, his wife Tok Puan Jusmalailani Jusoh and daughters, were seen taking away their luggage with the assistance of the official residence's staff.

In the video, the Jeneri assemblyman was also seen wading through floodwaters which fully covered the residence's compound.

Yesterday, it was reported that Kedah Menteri Besar's official residence was hit by floods.

However, Sanusi was away visiting his constituents at a temporary flood relief centre (PPS) at SK Kampung Betong in Sik when the floodwaters began seeping into Seri Mentaloon.

As at noon today, the flood situation in Kedah has further worsened with 7,895 people from 2,417 families in six districts have been relocated to 51 temporary flood relief centres.

It was a nearly 100 per cent jump from 4,488 evacuees in the state recorded at noon yesterday.
